In the Akashic Records (learn more about those here) we are able to learn some very important details about who we are on a soul level, what our intuitive gifts are, which soul gifts we have been given in this lifetime, and so much more. One of the most important aspects we can look into are the Life Lessons we have chosen in this lifetime.
Let’s dive into that a little further…
When we cross over, we go through a series of steps (the first step being that our loved ones and Spirit Guides greet us) and eventually end up in what is called a Life Review. A Life Review is exactly as it sounds. It is a full review of the life we have just left.
In order for our soul to grow and expand, every moment from birth until death is presented to us in order to learn our lessons from that lifetime. We are shown our lives from not only our perspective but that of others we have engaged with in a meaningful way.
Trust me, when I heard that the first time, I was thinking, “Heck no. I am not trying to relive the pain and grief I have suffered through in this lifetime.”
Can I please just skip the Life Review? Pretty Please?
However, I eventually learned that we don’t experience emotions on the other side like we do here. Emotions are very Earth-based and do not transfer over to other places we incarnate or when we cross over.
So, now that you know why there are life lessons we work on, let’s dig into how we receive them and how knowing which ones we choose help us in the here and now.
I think one of the biggest advantages to knowing which life lessons we have chosen is to understand the bigger picture of why things seemingly just happen to us. We pre-plan the major people who come into our lives, the major events, and our life lessons. This is not to say that everything is preplanned or out of our control, but there is a lot that goes into deciding the major people and events for our next lifetime (which we have full control of) before we reincarnate.
When we can see the bigger picture of how our life lessons correlate with those people and events, it can, in my opinion, take a little bit of the ‘sting’ out of some of more painful aspects of our lives.
For example, perhaps you have had a string of partners who have been unfaithful to you or have lied to you repeatedly.
That could be a life lesson in trust.
A life lesson in moderation, could look like you or someone else close to you going to extremes. Maybe there is a drug or alcohol addiction involved? You or someone close to you may have patterns of thinking, behaving, or exuding emotions that are intense one way or the other. There would usually not tend to be a middle ground for you or them in that example.
Perseverance as a lesson could mean that you have had to overcome great challenges or difficult situations. Having to ‘dig-deep’ and fight your way through an obstacle is another way this may come up. Sometimes the opposite can be true as well. Perhaps you know people that choose to not get though something (i.e. persevere) and you learn by watching them that not everyone is ‘made from the same cloth.’
You may be tempted to shout, “Suck it up Buttercup!” but you probably shouldn’t. Just sayin’.
When you can look at your life lessons and can put two and two together, it can really affect your view on life. Not only can you reflect back to notice any patterns that may have been there and/or see the connection between your lessons and people or events that have happened, you will be able to understand future situations on a higher level. It might even make them easier to navigate or allow you to go through them a bit smoother and with greater knowledge as to the why involved.
As you receive an Akashic Record Reading and learn your life lessons, there are a few things to keep in mind:
1. If I am reading for you, I will always give you a percentage of how far along you are with learning each lesson in the form of a percentage. 1% meaning it is a brand-new lesson you are working on and 100% meaning you are finished with it. We carry these with us over to as many subsequent lifetimes as it takes.
2. So, if you happen to be 85 years old and find out that one of your life lessons is only at say, 45%, you don’t need to worry about completing the other 55% before crossing over. You can choose to work on it again later in a different incarnation.
Quit putting so much pressure on yourself, darn it!
3. They are not a ‘to-do’ list. It is more about reflection and understanding rather than checking them off one at a time. We can’t really force learning these lessons as that wouldn’t really contribute to soul growth, right? Again, no pressure!
4. You may cruise through a lesson seemingly easily. Maybe you are surrounded by a couple of, ahem, challenging children and while everyone else around you look like their heads are about to explode, you are as cool as a cucumber.
Sometimes we learn by being a positive example to someone else who may be working on the same lesson. We, in turn learn though them. You typically can’t teach something without learning something yourself.
I would argue that this example with the kids is about patience. Wouldn’t you?
The Akashic Records are an incredibly effective tool to use for empowerment. Think of them as a crowbar that you are using to open up who you are on a soul level. Pry that baby open and see what’s inside!
If knowing your true sense of self isn’t powerful, I don’t know what is.
