Twin flames seem to be a hot topic these days. I can’t tell you the number of clients recently who have been asking if they have a twin flame. It used to be all about finding your soul mate, but not any longer.
Now, we are trying to learn:
· What twin flames actually are
· How we can connect with our twin flame
· Whether twin flames are just an updated or modernized version of what some refer to as soul mates (Hint . . . the answer to this last one is no.)
Twin flames and soul mates are not the same thing. I will write more about soul mates in an upcoming post, so stay tuned.
With that said, I did learn a few things from talking with my clients when the subject about twin flames came up:
First, you can’t trust everything you read on the internet. I know, I know. I was just as shocked as you are! Just kidding.
Seriously though, several of my clients admitted to searching the internet as long as necessary to find at least one website that fit their idea of what a twin flame was. Their search had begun to try to define a relationship they were either currently in, used to be in, or were hoping to be in as a twin flame.
Second. there is a ton of misinformation out there! It’s no wonder why people are so confused. One website says one thing, and another contradicts it. An expert has one definition, and someone else has another.
So, since I, at one time, knew very little about twin flames and didn’t know who to trust with having all the answers, I did what one does when they need legit information:
I asked my Spirit Guides.
It’s funny. You would think that as a professional psychic, I would be going to my Guides with everything. I mean, I have Divine Guidance right at my fingertips! (We all do, by the way.) However, I often forget to consult with them. I feel that between the amount of time I spend with my clients’ Guides, and having a life outside of work—hello, mom life—I honestly rarely take time for my own spiritual guidance. Have you ever heard the old proverb,
The cobbler’s children have no shoes?
Yeah. That’s me; only I am both the cobbler and the shoeless kid.
Why am I ratting myself out? Only because I felt this topic was so important to so many people that I wanted to get it right. It was essential for me to share the truth about twin flames as it came directly from my guides.
Here is what I channeled:
According to Spirit, Twin Flames occur when two souls make an agreement to share a piece of their soul with the other. This does not mean that you are split in two (as I have read online) but rather that you are already a whole soul who simply shares a part of your soul with another.
Earth incarnations can be very difficult. We deal with all aspects of life: physicality, spirituality, emotions, finances, intellect, politics, and so forth. Incarnating on Earth is deliberately meant to be difficult in order for us to have rapid soul growth. When we incarnate elsewhere, we are not inundated with all the challenges we have while here on Earth.
Armored with the information that an earthly incarnation can be rough, some souls (usually within a soul family) will agree to share a piece of their soul with one another. By sharing a part of your soul with each other, you can connect energetically with that other soul and feel as though you are never alone in this challenging incarnation here on Earth.
You always know (on a subconscious level) that there is someone out there in your corner, rooting for you and understanding what you are going through. It’s almost as though you have your own personal cheerleader!
Speaking with my clients, there seems to be this idea that one needs to meet their twin flame to be whole.
This is not the case.
You are already whole, as they have a piece of you and you them. There isn’t anything missing because you tap into the energy your twin flame carries to experience a connection with them. When a twin flame crosses over, they continue to guide you for the rest of your earthly life. Once you both cross over, you are reunited, and the soul contract to support each other as twin flames is over.
I asked Spirit the following questions:
1. Can you choose to have a twin flame in as many earthly incarnations as you want?
Yes. Source (or God or our Higher Power) gives us permission to become a twin flame with another soul (or souls) in any earthly lifetime.
2. Is it essential that I meet my twin flame in this lifetime?
No. This is a soul contract, and your twin flame may have also agreed to support each other from a distance. In fact, your twin flame may have even already crossed over and is guiding you without a physical body (similar to a Spirit Guide). The energetic connection you have is the important thing, not a physical connection.
3. Do twin flames make good romantic partners?
Twin flames do not necessarily make good romantic partners because you have each chosen your life lessons before this incarnation as well as how you have decided to learn them.
Perhaps your twin flame has chosen a life lesson of trust and has had a string of relationships that have gone sour in order to learn what “trust” is as a life lesson. Getting romantically involved with your twin flame could lead to a reoccurring bout of highs and lows in that relationship. One minute you have this inherent connection with each other, and the next, the trust issue rears its ugly head. If you knew in advance about the life lesson your twin flame had chosen, you may have decided that getting romantically involved was not such a great idea.
If you were meant to be romantic partners, you would have made that soul agreement before this incarnation to accept the life lessons chosen in advance. However, more often than not, a twin flame is more like an energetic partner serving as a support system.
4. Can you be twin flames with a parent or another family member?
Absolutely! For example, have you ever had a connection with someone in your family (say, your child), that has always felt more like a spiritual connection rather than a parent/child relationship? That could be a sign you are twin flames.
Another example of this is having a loved one cross over, and you feel internally like a piece of you is physically missing. That could be a sign you are twin flames.
5. Are you always twin flames with the same soul in each incarnation?
No. The soul contract to be a twin flame with another soul is made before this incarnation and ends when both souls cross over. You are free to choose someone else in your soul family to be twin flames with in each lifetime. Of course, you can certainly incarnate without choosing to have a twin flame as well.
At the end of the day, souls choose to have a twin flame in order to not feel alone, and considering how stressful life can be here on Earth, it’s nice to know we aren’t necessarily on our own.
